Very timely for this weekend:
From Gary:

Johann Sebastian Bach
St. Matthew Passion, BWV244 Oratorio in three parts for solo voices, double choir and double orchestra.

Collegium Vocale Gent, Philippe Herreweghe & Nikolaus Harnoncourt, conductor.

"Perhaps, the most profound Baroque recordings ever."

From Kevin:
Johann Sebastian Bach

From Janet:
Johann Sebastian Bach
Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D , BWV 1050: Allegro, Affettuoso, Allegro

"I'm a harpsichord fanatic, so I'm partial to Bach's 5th Brandenburg concerto."

From Edna:
Antonio Vivaldi
Gloria RV589 : Gloria, Et in terra pax hominibus, Gratias agimus tibi,
Propter magnam gloriam, Domine Fili unigenite, Domine Deus, Agnus Dei, Qui tollis peccata mundi, Quoniam tu solus Sanctus, Cum Sancto Spiritu.
Baroccada (Mustonen) and Voces Musicale – an Israeli Baroque ensemble

From Robert:
Giuseppe Tartini
Devil's Trill Sonata in G Minor: Larghetto affettuoso, Allegro moderato, Andante, Allegro assai

"I have a particular fondness for the Devil’s Trill. During the 35 years that I taught at that school for Hawaiian students in Honolulu we always gave a Halloween concert each year, with costumes, decorations etc. Plus ... I always told a ghost story. One of my favorites incorporated the story of the Devil’s Trill into a spooky experience (rather embellished, I admit) that I had during a concert tour with a small orchestra in Austria. What fun!"

From Edna:
Antonio Vivaldi
Concerto in F minor, Op. 8 No. 4 RV 297 "L'inverno": Allegro non molto, Largo, Allegro.
Here with Edna's favorite group, Voices of Music.

From Petra:
This was posted on April 1 by The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, a British period instrument orchestra.
