The Boise Baroque Orchestra and Boise State University Department of Music will present a six-day conductor/string soloist workshop to explore repertoire from the 18th century. Eight conducting fellows and eight soloists will present two full public concerts with the Boise Baroque Orchestra. The workshop will take place in Boise, Idaho on the campus of Boise State University with two concerts videotaped for participants from behind the orchestra as well as from the hall.
Conductors
Conductors will study with Robert Franz, Artistic Director of the Boise Baroque Orchestra and Music Director of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. Each fellow will have ample podium time to perform two movements from an 18th century symphony as well as a movement of a standard concerto.

Audition Materials: email resume plus 2 conducting videos of contrasting styles to music@boisestate.edu. Baroque/Classical repertoire recommended, but not required.
Tuition Fees: Conducting Fellows (including video) $1300 (Food and housing not included), Conducting Auditors $500 (Food and housing not included)

In addition, students will play side-by-side with their professional counterparts on their “non-concerto” concert. Baroque bows will be available for use during this festival courtesy of the Boise Baroque Orchestra.
Faculty members include Dr. Bryan Hall, violin professor at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Dr. Brian Hodges, cello professor at Boise State/principal cello of BBO and Jennifer Drake, Music Director of BPYO and Serenata Orchestra/principal viola of BBO. String students will work with all faculty throughout the workshop
