Robert Franz speaks about BBO's Education Outreach Program.
BBO in the Schools
Our Mission:
To foster the artistic growth of professional musicians and music students throughout the Treasure Valley. 2019-2020 Season: The Boise Baroque Orchestra worked with the Boise High School Orchestra and the Boise State Chamber Orchestra on the use of authentic baroque bows with coaching, master classes and side-by-side concerts. Our Principal String musicians taught students how to use baroque techniques with bows loaned to the students by the BBO. Maestro Robert Franz then rehearsed the students before they played in performance with the full orchestra at the opening concert of the 2019-20 season.
2020-2021 Season:
The Boise Baroque Orchestra offered virtual educational programs rather than in-person instruction to accommodate COVID requirements. Boise State University, College of Western Idaho, College of Idaho, Boise High, Timberline High, and Centennial High all participated. Hundreds of music students watched our fall Digital Concert Series and participated in Q & A sessions with Maestro Robert Franz.
Thanks to patrons like you, our BBO in the Schools program is thriving.
